The story
Since childhood, Perry always loved to draw — sketching under a lamp during the long winter months and then outdoors when the warmer, brighter seasons arrived. Art was never a hobby; it was simply how he saw the world.
As a young adult, Perry began painting with watercolor while working as a Data Technician, dedicating his weekends to developing his craft and expanding into new mediums. For years he balanced two lives — the practical and the creative — never letting go of the one that mattered most.
In 2011, he made the leap. Perry left his career to become a full-time artist, and Perry Holmes Studios was born — a practice built on a lifetime of dedication to the art of seeing.
Philosophy
"I'm not interested in capturing a moment. I'm interested in what the moment reveals."
Great photography isn't about equipment or technique — it's about presence. Being still enough, patient enough, and curious enough to let something true emerge. That's the practice. That's what drives every commission, every personal project, every frame.
